Privacy Policy
Effective October 27, 2026. Miles is made by Mobily.
The short version
Miles keeps your trips on your iPhone. We don't have a server. We don't have accounts. We don't use ads or analytics. We never see where you drive.
What Miles uses and why
- Location. Miles uses your location to measure each drive. GPS turns on when a drive starts and turns off after you park. Between drives, Miles listens for low-power signals from iOS so it can notice the next drive. Those are big location changes, a small fence around where you parked, and motion.
- Always access. Miles asks for Always so it can log a drive you start while the app is closed. Without it, Miles only logs a drive that starts within a few minutes of opening the app.
- Motion. Miles uses motion data to tell when you start driving.
- Notifications. When a drive ends, Miles can send a notification so you can mark it Work or Personal.
Where your data is kept
Your trips, routes, addresses and settings are saved on your iPhone. If you back up your iPhone to iCloud or a computer, that backup includes Miles data, the same as any other app.
What goes to Apple
Miles uses Apple Maps for two things. It turns the start and end of a drive into a street name. And it suggests addresses when you type one in. Those requests go to Apple and follow Apple's privacy policy. Nothing goes to us.
Sharing
Miles only shares a report when you tap Share. You pick where the PDF or CSV goes.
Deleting your data
Delete the Miles app and every trip goes with it. You can also turn off tracking in Miles Settings, or turn off location for Miles in the iPhone Settings app.
Children
Miles is made for adults who drive for work. It is not directed at children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
